My Language 2 Self-assessment 2023

This semester in English Language 2 it was difficult for me to adapt to some teachers or to have two teachers in Use of English because what one taught was confused by the other. It is a bit tedious to have to get used to each professor’s way of teaching every semester, because you always get used to one. On the other hand, my goals were not met. Phonics was really a challenge for me because I couldn’t find the motivation and will to learn the new units, although the roommates have helped me a lot to improve my fluency and pronunciation. With Speaking I am quite satisfied because with Professor Carlos I was able to develop more since his classes convey confidence and that is something that I did not see in the first semester. With Reading and Writing I can say that I am satisfied, although it was not my favorite subject, I learned many things thanks to Professor Marcos. Use of English was a complete mess, it is my worst subject this semester even though the previous one was one of my best subjects. It was very difficult for me to keep up with two teachers who have a different teaching methodology and I got very confused between their classes, although I didn’t do much of my part either because I became demotivated class after class. Listening each time became a little more complicated hahaha, apart from the fact that I am a little scattered, maintaining concentration on the tests was quite a challenge, but I don’t dislike it, I just have to practice more, as in everything if I want to continue next semester. I want to believe that it was a bad semester and that several aspects of my life worked against me and that next year I can give my best and improve myself.

  1. Khalid: How about trying tennis? It’s a great racquet sport, and you enjoyed watching it at Wimbledon.
  2. Helen: Tennis sounds like a good idea. It’s a sport I’m familiar with, and it’s a fun way to stay active.
  3. Khalid: You can start with some beginner lessons and gradually improve your skills. Plus, it’s a sport that you can play both individually and with a partner.
  4. Helen: That’s a great point. I’ll look for tennis lessons at the sports center and see if they offer beginner classes.
  5. Khalid: You can also consider badminton or table tennis if you want to explore other racquet sports. They’re quite enjoyable too.
  6. Helen: Those options sound interesting as well. I’ll check out the schedules for badminton and table tennis.
  7. Khalid: Whichever sport you choose, the most important thing is to stay committed and have fun while getting fit.
  8. Helen: Thanks for your advice, Khalid. I’m excited to start my fitness journey with a sport I enjoy.
  9. Khalid: I’m sure you’ll do great, Helen. Let me know if you need any help finding resources or partners to play with.
  10. Helen: I will, Khalid. Your support means a lot. Now, I need to decide between tennis, badminton, or table tennis. Decisions, decisions!

elli: Cleaning the stables is my least favorite part of riding Dusty.

alice: every fun has its boring side.

ellie: I love hanging out with Dusty so much that I don’t mind having to do the dirty work later.

Alice: I know it!

Ellie:I can’t believe how fast Dusty can go! It’s like we’re flying, Alice.

Alice: Absolutely, Ellie. You and Dusty make an incredible team out there.

Instructor: Great job, both of you! Now, let’s dismount, Ellie.

Ellie: Dusty is not just beautiful; she’s my best friend. I feel so lucky to ride her.

Alice: I’m thrilled you had a great time, Ellie. It’s always a joy to see you and Dusty in action!
